Choose around the setup you need
Orbit and Bobby both help you track subscriptions on iPhone. Bobby suits a manual list: select a service or create an entry, add its details, and receive due-date notifications. Orbit is worth trying if you want to bring in subscription evidence with Magic Import, review the suggestions, and keep upcoming renewals visible through reminders and widgets.
If your Bobby list is already accurate and easy to maintain, that is a good reason to keep using it. Changing apps is most useful when it solves a specific problem with your current routine.
How you build the list
Bobby: its App Store listing describes a catalogue of services and custom entries. You enter the contract details and can review subscription costs and upcoming bills.
Orbit: you can add subscriptions yourself or use Magic Import with screenshots, statements, CSVs or pasted text. Check each suggested amount, billing cycle and renewal date before saving. Import help reduces retyping; it is not proof that every subscription has been found.

Try one monthly and one annual subscription
Use the same two subscriptions to assess either app:
- Add a monthly service from its latest receipt.
- Add an annual service with its full yearly price and actual renewal date.
- Check that you can tell the next payment apart from a monthly cost estimate.
- Set a reminder early enough to decide whether to renew.
- Review the list again after the next real charge.
This is a more useful comparison than entering your whole history immediately. The better fit is the app you can keep accurate with little effort.
When Orbit's import help matters
If your current list is scattered across receipts and screenshots, start with a small import. Review it against the original evidence before adding more. Orbit's Magic Import guide explains that workflow and its limits.
For document-based import, Orbit's privacy policy says personal details are removed on the device before analysis. This is a description of that document workflow, not a claim that every feature processes everything locally.
When Bobby is enough
A short, stable list may be easier to maintain manually. If you know each service, price and renewal date, Bobby's catalogue, custom entries and notifications may meet the need without changing your routine.
