Match the cancellation to your receipt

Cancel ChatGPT where you bought it: on the web, through Apple, or through Google Play. A web subscription uses Settings → Billing → Cancel. A mobile-store purchase must be cancelled in that store. Allow at least 24 hours before renewal, then save confirmation that future billing has stopped.

If you paid on chatgpt.com

  1. Sign in to the account shown on your receipt.
  2. Open your account menu.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Billing.
  5. Choose Cancel under Cancel plan.
  6. Finish the prompts and check the subscription status.

If Apple bills you

  1. Open your iPhone's Settings.
  2. Tap your name.
  3. Open Subscriptions.
  4. Select ChatGPT.
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription.
  6. Confirm and check the expiration date.

If there is no cancel button and an expiration date appears, check whether the plan is already cancelled. Deleting your ChatGPT account does not cancel an Apple-billed subscription.

If Google Play bills you

  1. Open Google Play using the account on the receipt.
  2. Open Subscriptions.
  3. Select ChatGPT.
  4. Select Cancel subscription.
  5. Complete the confirmation prompts.

If you manage a Business workspace

Use Workspace settings → Billing → Manage plan → Cancel subscription. Ask the workspace owner if billing settings are unavailable. Enterprise and Edu arrangements need their account contact.

Check the result before closing the page

Keep the confirmation, account email and final access date together. Ordinary cancellation leaves paid access until the current period ends. A refund is a separate request and can end access earlier.

If a charge appears again, compare it with your saved receipt. Check the purchase platform, account and cancellation time before deciding whether it is the same plan. A second login or store account can make two subscriptions look like one.

For a missing login, duplicate charge or refund request, use OpenAI's current billing guidance. Do not delete an account just to avoid finding the billing controls.

Review the other tools you keep
