Cancel from your Spotify account
To cancel Spotify Premium when Spotify bills you, open your account in a browser, choose Manage your plan, then Cancel subscription. Follow the prompts and check the final Premium date. If a partner bills you, use its cancellation process instead. Deleting the app does not stop the subscription.
- Sign in to the Spotify account with Premium.
- Open Manage your plan.
- Select Cancel subscription.
- Complete the cancellation prompts.
- Save the confirmation and the date Premium ends.
If the cancellation option is missing
Look under Payment in Manage your plan. For a partner-billed subscription, Spotify provides a link to the company that manages payment. Follow that provider's instructions and save its confirmation.
If the account already shows Spotify Free but you are still being charged, check your other Spotify logins against the receipt. Do not assume the charge belongs to the account currently open.
Family and Duo plans
The plan manager can cancel the paid plan. A member leaving the plan does not stop the manager's bill. Tell the other members before cancelling so they know when their Premium access will end.
Check whether access ends now or later
For a paid plan, Premium lasts until the next billing date. Spotify says a zero-priced trial ends immediately when cancelled and cannot be reactivated. Playlists and saved music remain on the free account.
Before confirming, decide whether you still need the remaining trial access. If you keep a trial running, set a reminder early enough to return to the account and finish cancellation. Do not leave that decision to the last moment.
Keep a useful cancellation record
Save the confirmation alongside the account email, billing provider, and final access date. This gives you something concrete to check if another charge appears.
Cancellation and a refund are separate requests. Use Spotify's refund guidance if you want an existing payment reviewed.
